improving your fitness is all about progression, small steps, one at a time... let a personal trainer show you the way "why can I charge
so little?... because I personal train during my working hours
which means I have no travelling costs, it also encourages people
to join and as the club owner, more members makes my business more
profitable... and to be honest, not many people are in a position
to pay at least £25 per hour, three times per week in the
present economic climate" The days have gone when Personal Trainers were accessible only to the rich and famous. Although still relatively expensive, when you consider the benefits of what a PT could do for your life, not just now, but for the rest of it, suddenly the cost doesn't seem to be such a major issue. Training memberships at the Abbey Mill Fitness Club are becoming

Since starting Karate at the age of 11 Stephen has constantly been involved in one form of fitness or another. At the age of 14 he became, at the time, Scotland's youngest black belt. About that time he started to develop an interest in weight training along with many cardiovascular activities such as running and cycling. At 16 he joined a free style Martial Arts club whilst still continuing with Karate. Not long after turning 17 he decided that it was time for a change and he gave up Karate for Tae-kwon-do where he was instated at blue belt level due to his Karate experience. But within 6 months his interest had swung totally towards fitness training and was now working out intensely 7 days a week, giving up the martial arts. In 1994, after a few years undecided what he wanted to do with his future, Stephen enrolled at James Watt College, Greenock, and studied Health & Fitness for 3 years, resulting in him gaining an HND in Health & Fitness. After college he set up as a free lance Personal Trainer and worked with clients mainly in their homes. Although having very little interest in bodybuilding, Stephen competed at amateur level from 2002 until 2005, entering 5 competitions in total, winning 2 out of 4 Mr.Renfrewshires' and taking 2nd place in his class at the NABBA in 2004.
After buying and saving St.Mirren Sports & Leisure in 2006 Stephen found he no longer had the energies for training and lost most of his fitness and condition for the best part of 3 years, but now settled with his new gym based in Abbey Mill Business Centre he has started to resurrect his own training and personal training career. |
